A Guide To Hypnosis – Hypnotherapy FAQ

Below is a guide to hypnosis with frequently asked questions on hypnotherapy and hypnosis. Feel free to contact me if there are still any unanswered questions. What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and focused concentration. It's the state similar to daydreaming, or the one you enter every time you watch a movie or your favorite TV show. Read more here. What is hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy is therapy that takes place while a person is under hypnosis. It is usually applied to modify someone’s behavior and attitudes. In what areas is hypnotherapy helpful? Common areas are: smoking cessation, weight loss, sleep disorders, stress, anxiety, pain relief, improvement of concentration levels, study skills, building confidence, relaxation, improve sports performance, goal setting, personal development. How does hypnotherapy work? When you contact me, we will start with a consultation visit to discuss the issue(s) you want to work on. I will give you details about the number of visits required and the cost. The actual sessions after the consultation visit take about an hour each. Find out more here. Depending on the issue and the client, a wide range of techniques can be used during hypnotherapy. How quickly will I see results? It depends on the issue(s) and your personal circumstances. Sometimes only one session is enough, but in many cases follow-up sessions are needed. If you are highly motivated and committed to your success, there’s a higher chance of positive results in a short amount of time. Can I be hypnotized? Already in the late 1950s, researchers of Stanford University learned through subsequent studies that any person with normal intelligence can be hypnotized. It is important though that you are willing to be hypnotized. How does it feel to be hypnotized? Hypnosis feels similar to daydreaming or to the feeling you get right before you fall asleep at night. Most people feel refreshed and revitalized after a hypnosis session. Will I remain conscious during hypnosis? Yes. You can hear everything and you are aware of everything going on around you. During the session you remain in complete control and can terminate the session at any point if you choose to do so. Will I reveal any secrets when hypnotized? No. Hypnosis is not a lie detector or a truth serum that makes people incapable of lying or keeping secrets. You will not reveal any intimate secrets you would not tell while awake. How much will I remember of a hypnosis session? Some people remember everything that was said during the session. Others remember parts of it, and others have difficulties remembering most of it. Since the suggestions are directed to your subconscious mind, how much you remember consciously after the session has no bearing on your success. Is there a risk of getting stuck in hypnosis? There is no danger of getting stuck in hypnosis. It is impossible. If you were in a nice deep hypnotic state and for some reason the hypnotist leaves the room, you would become bored and after a few minutes you would either open your eyes, or fall asleep just like you do at night. After you’ve rested enough, you’ll just wake up. Where are you based? I’m based in Albuquerque, NM. How can I make an appointment? You can call me (+505 823 6508) or write to me, free of obligations.
